What Scott Aaronson misses is that most educated people are awful with statistics too.  The mistakes an individual would make are still made commonly by biologists in the literature and practicing doctors.  Until we have a better understanding of what these data mean and that information has percolated through the medical community,  we may not want to allow the release of these probabilities.
